There are around 3.000 sorts of fish in Amazon region, which represents 85% of the South America and 15% of the continental waters;

 Studies of Amazon state fishing showed that only 36 sorts are explored. 90 % of fishing is represented by 18 sorts, but 61 % is of only four sorts, namely: Tambaqui (18 %), Jaraqui (32 %) Curimatã (11 %) and Pacu (5 %);

 The most recent researches estimate that the pluvial forests of the world can have up to 30 million sorts of insects;

 In a single tree in the Amazon region, it were found 80 different sorts of ants, that represents the double of the considered one in the British Islands;
